Keeping tuned to possibility
In my journal this morning I noted that I'm feeling pretty good at the moment because there are a number of opportunities bubbling away in my view.
I also wrote that my emotions and energy in the present often have a lot to do with how positive and/or exciting the future is looking.
It occurred to me that I'm somewhat a victim of my circumstances in that regard.
Then I wondered how I could use that knowledge to take back control of my experience of the present moment.
There are always possibilities around and when I'm in the mental and emotional state of being aware of them it's like being precisely tuned in to the right channel, in a wifi hotspot.
When I can't see those possibilities it's like being in a dodgy area of reception, experiencing interference with little or no signal.
The practices that quiet my inner chatter and help me find my possibility wifi hotspot are running, creative writing, listening to uplifting music, reading inspirational books and articles, simplifying (decluttering), and connecting with others.
What practices keep you tuned in to your channel of possibility?
